Florence

It doesn't matter what we could say about Florence, it will never be superlative enough. Let us say for example 'the cradle' of the Renaissance, or 'the Mother' of the Italian Language, or let us say Leonardo da Vinci, or Michelangelo, or Massacio, or Botticelli, or Dante and as we go on, it gets more difficult to set an end to the list.

Built on the site of an Etruscan settlement, assumed its economic and cultural predominance under the Medici in the 15th and 16th centuries. Its years of extraordinary artistic creativity can be seen above all in its Cathedral, the Santa Maria del Fiore, the Santa Croce Church, the Uffizi Palace and the Pitti Palace which are the work of artists like Giotto, Brunelleschi, Botticelli and Michelangelo.
