A diastolic mitral regurgitation is not a very rare phenomenon. This image could look very strange. Apparently multiple diastolic mitral regurgitations can be seen during one diastole, in this case of atrial flutter with slow atrial contractions and also a very slow AV-conduction.

Una insuficiencia mitral diastólica no es un fenómeno muy raro. Esta imagen puede parecer muy extraña. Aquí pueden verse aparentemente varias insuficiencias mitrales diastólicas durante una diástole, en este caso de flutter auricular con contracciones auriculares lentas y con una conducción atrioventricular también prolongada.





Since atrial contraction during atrial flutter can produce some flow through the mitral valve into the left ventricle, as we see in the following image of the same case, these f' flows could be just cutting one diastolic mitral regurgitation in many pieces.

Contracciones auriculares durante un flutter auricular pueden causar algo de flujo a través de la válvula mitral hacia el ventrículo izquierdo, como vemos en la imagen que sigue del mismo caso, estos flujos f' podrían estar cortando en muchos pedazos una insuficiencia mitral diastólica.
