Chicago
Chicago is located in northeastern Illinois along the southern tip of Lake Michigan's
shore.
The City of Chicago should actually be the named "Mother of Vertical Architecture", and this with
justice, since high building architecture, as we know now, was first made reality here
more than 130 years ago. Famous names of that time are William Le Baron
Jenney (First Chicago School), Frank Lloyd Wright and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (Second Chicago
Shool).
Chicago is a harmonic city with an amazing cultural blending. Irish, Italian, German,
Polish, African americans that migrated from the southern US, Mexican and Asian immigrants
created Chicago as it is nowadays. This diverse mix has built a city with an unrivaled
tradition of jazz and blues, an astonishing architecture, award-winning newspapers and
universities full of Nobel laureates.
